Roping Skills Refresher

What you will be learning....
Abseil rigs common in single and multi pitch contexts, terms of rigging, dispatch, rescue, client experience, and training requirements. Rescue from key rigs, and an exchange of knowledge, skills, and experiences among participants

TImes and Location.... A full day in the Upper Blue Mountains. Exact time and location will closer the date and will be influenced by weather and the exact makeup of the group.

Things you need to know before you book your place:

Pre-attendance Questionnaire
To understand current knowledge and to assist your growth opportunity, you will be required to complete a pre-attendance questionnaire upon booking.

Optional Post Attendance Assignment
ONSWACT is offering an optional post session assignment that is issued to you based on your interests, strengths and weaknesses on the day of the practical session, and trends in the industry at the time.
*The assignment will be issued and reviewed by unpaid technical advisors at ONSW&ACT. Assuming it is of high quality, there is an expectation that your assignment along with assessor feedback will become part of a database of reference documents available to participants in this program.
The number of Optional Post Session Assignment opportunities will be limited and eligibility criteria will apply.
Roping Skills Refresher
50 PD Points
This PD session is tailored for a wide audience within the abseiling sector, from activity planners and staff trainers to guides seeking to refresh or update their skills. Led by seasoned professionals, the workshop emphasises skill development to enhance participant experiences in abseiling activities.
Upon completion you will receive a certificate of completion and 50 PD points which will go towards further rewards and other PD opportunities with ONSWACT.
Attendees to this course have the added option of obtaining a free one year subscription with ONSWACT (Valued at $25.00 per annum) . Select ROPING SKILLS REFRESHER 2024 (NON-MBR) to get your free subscription.
In this session you will:

Practice abseil rigs common in single and multi pitch contexts, discuss their merits in terms of rigging, dispatch, rescue, client experience, and training requirements

Carry out a rescue from key rigs, ensuring a detailed understanding of each methodology

A facilitated exchange of knowledge, skills, and experiences among participants
Participants are encouraged to bring any specific equipment they wish to discuss or need clarity on. This interactive session promises not only to sharpen your technical abilities but also to broaden your understanding of how different methodologies might be applied in different circumstances.

OTHER FORTHCOMING EVENTS IN 2024
Cancellation Policy for Outdoors NSW & ACT Events
As tickets have been provided at a heavily discounted rate, and is capped to suit necessary ratios or capacity, it is important the maximum amount of time is provided for cancelling a ticket to our events in order to allow other attendees to participate.
A nomination of another member of your organisation is preferred to a cancellation and tickets can be changed accordingly.
Should there be a no-show or a cancellation without 7 days notice, there will be a no-refund supplied.
Please support the industry by giving as much notice as possible in the event of a required cancellation.
