July has been a powerful reminder of what our industry can achieve when we come together. The 2025 Outdoor Industry Summit in Canberra was a standout success—filled with energy, connection, and bold conversations that continue to echo across the sector. We left with a sense of pride in how far we’ve come, and a renewed determination to tackle what lies ahead.
I’ve just returned from a few great days on the road—first, at the Bathurst Council Careers Day where we partnered with TAFE to promote the value and opportunity of Outdoor Leadership training. It was fantastic to see strong interest from students and educators alike. I also had the privilege of joining colleagues from AUSActive and other proactive health advocates at Parliament House in Canberra, meeting with politicians to push for greater national focus on preventative health strategies—an area where the outdoors plays a vital role.
As always, Outdoors NSW & ACT is here to serve our members—by driving the advocacy, support, and collaboration needed to strengthen our collective impact. From policy submissions to workforce development, we’re keeping our sleeves rolled up and focused on the issues that matter most to you.
In this issue, you’ll find key updates and opportunities flowing from the Summit and beyond, including the launch of the MTB Manifesto, new partnerships, upcoming training, and a call to action for the future of our sector.
Let’s keep the momentum going—together.
